During April, “City Streets” a show of paintings by Erica Pollock will be at State of the Art. About her work, the artist states: “I focus on the urban environment as my subject matter, which is emphasized by the use of light and shadow. In my most recent work, the interaction between people, shadow and streets is explored. By cropping the physical elements, such as people or cars, the focus of the painting is pulled into the shadows, exploring the shadows as a reflection of the physical person.” Show dates: March 31-May 2, 2010.
