25th in the 25th!

James Burlitch’s photo “Glimpse of Peek-a-Boo Trail” was winner of the People’s Choice Award.

 

2014 marks “The 25th Annual Juried Photography Show” at State of the Art Gallery, which is also celebrating its 25th year in the art business in Ithaca. This event attracts photographers from the Ithaca area and beyond and entries selected for the exhibition represent numerous and varied ways that photographers are currently working.  

This year’s Prize Judge is Roger Freeman, Professor of Photography Emeritus and former chair of the Department of Photography at Alfred University, made the following awards:

 Sara Carman for “Presence and Cleaved”

 Joleen Mahoney Roe for “The Sacred Tree”

 Kim McAlear for “Tessa and Isaac”

 Michael Beggs for “Milan, Italy”

Doug Baird for “Undergrowth 5E”

 Jari Poulan for “Warrior Woman”

 Gwen Bullock for “Karen”

 Ed Dittenhoefer for “Criminalize Fracking”

 Ariel Bullion Ecklund for “Moving Pictures and Blue, for Kerouac”

 Karl Kayser for “Shadows with Havana and First Grade Graduation”

Chris Phare for “Treman Park Waterfalls”

Show dates are Wednesday, March 5 through Sunday, March 30, 2014.
